Baked Custard

​

Ingredients



2 cups scalded milk
2 eggs
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp. vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
a dash powdered nutmeg

Method



1. In a small saucepan scald the milk.



2. Beat the eggs slightly and add salt and sugar.


3. Very slowly, add the scalded milk and stir continuously.


4. Add vanilla essence.


5. Pour into greased baking cups and place in a baking dish filled with hot water.


6. Sprinkle with nutmeg.


7. Bake in an oven at 350 °C until firm.
