​Baked Yam

​Ingredients 

​

1 Yam

Salt to taste

2 tbsp. butter 

1 cup grated cheese

1 egg

Milk as needed

​

The Method 

​

1. Wash yam well and dry.

​

2. Bake in an oven at 325 F until soft.

​

3. Cut yam lengthwise and scoop out the center.  Retain the shells.

​

4. Mash with a potato masher, add butter, salt, 1/2 of the cheese, egg and milk.

​

5.Place mixture in the yam shells, sprinkle with grated cheese and brown in the oven for 15 minutes.

​
