Candy Sticks
 

Ingredients
 

½ cup margarine
4 cups flour
4 tbsp condensed milk
1 cup oil for deep-frying
2 cups granulated sugar
½ cup water
Ground cinnamon to taste

Method
 

1. Rub margarine into flour until the mixture is crumbly in texture.



2. Add milk and enough water to make a stiff dough.



3. Roll out unto a floured surface to approx 1/3 inch thickness and cut into strips of 3 inch x 1/3 inch.



4. Heat oil in a pan.



5. Deep fry until crisp and golden brown.



6. Add sugar and water in a pan and boil until it is thickened and spins a thread.



7. Pour this syrup over the candy sticks, and turn them continuously until the candy sticks are evenly coated  and the syrup crystallizes.
