Fruit trifle


Ingredients


2 cups custard
½ cup freshly stewed fruit or canned fruit in syrup
½ lb sponge cake or stale cake
Dried fruit, cherries and nuts to decorate


Method


1. Prepare the custard and allow to cool slightly.


2. Slice the cake and arrange the slices in brandy glasses or a glass dish of your choice.


3. Pour the freshly stewed fruit and its juices over the cake.


4. Once completely soaked, pour custard cover and chill until cold.


5. Decorate.
