Ginger Beer
 

Ingredients



 



3 lbs fresh ginger

3 liter water

sugar to taste (about 2 lbs)

Method



 

1. Boil the water and set aside to cool.



2. Grate or chop the ginger in a food processor.  Traditionally, a mortar and pestle was used to mash the ginger.



3. In a large glass container, place the ginger and water. Cover it. 



4. Store undisturbed in a cool place for 48 hours.



5. Strain and sweeten.



6. Serve cold.
