​Sorrel  Wine

Ingredients



3 cups of sorrel sepals
1 cinnamon stick
8 cups  water (more if needed)
2 cups sugar
¼  cup white rum (more or less)
1 cup rice
6 cloves

Method



1. Wash sorrel and place in pan covered with water.


2. Add the cinnamon and bring to boil until sorrel is tender and colorless.


3. Strain.


4. Add rice, cloves and white rum.


5. Allow to stand for three days, without shaking.


6. Strain and sweeten to taste.


7. Pour into a bottle and do not fill to the brim, leave some same space to allow the mixture to breathe.


8. Keep in a place where it will not be shaken for three weeks to a month.


9. When opening, do not shake it.


10.  Strain and serve cold.
