Trifle



Ingredients


2 cups custard
½ cup sherry or milk mixed with rum
Jam
½ lb sponge cake or stale cake
Dried fruit, cherries and nuts to decorate


Method


1. Prepare the custard and allow to cool slightly.


2. Slice the cake and spread with jam.


3. Arrange the slices in brandy glasses or a glass dish of your choice and then soak with sherry or milk.


4. Once completely soaked, pour custard cover and chill until cold.



5. Decorate.
